Lo Romero Golf

Located in Pilar de la Horadada, in the province of Alicante, Lo Romero Golf has established itself as a premier destination for golf enthusiasts on the Costa Blanca. Since its opening in 2008, this 18-hole, par-72 course has offered a unique experience, blending technical challenges with a stunning natural environment.

Course Design and Features

Designed by architects Jorge Gallén and Enric Soler, Lo Romero spans 6,237 meters from the white tees. The course takes full advantage of the natural terrain, incorporating gentle hills, valleys, and wooded areas alongside lakes and streams that add both difficulty and beauty to the game. Surrounded by pine trees, carob trees, and abundant rosemary bushes—from which the course gets its name—Lo Romero also offers spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea from several holes.

The Iconic 18th Hole: “The Island”

Lo Romero’s signature hole is the 18th, known as “The Island”. This par-4 presents a thrilling challenge with a green almost entirely surrounded by water, accessible only via a wooden bridge. From an elevated tee, golfers must carefully plan their shots to avoid hazards and successfully reach the island green, providing a memorable finish to any round.

Facilities and Services

Beyond its impressive course, Lo Romero Golf boasts excellent facilities, including a modern clubhouse with a restaurant and terrace overlooking the 18th hole—perfect for relaxing after a round. The club also offers top-tier practice facilities, featuring:

  • A driving range with both natural grass and covered areas
  • A short game area with bunkers and chipping zones
  • Two putting greens

Additionally, golfers can rent buggies, electric and manual trolleys, and purchase equipment from a fully stocked pro shop.

Prime Location

One of Lo Romero’s biggest advantages is its strategic location. It is just 40 minutes by car from both Alicante and Murcia international airports, making it easily accessible for both local and international players. Moreover, its proximity to the beaches of the Costa Blanca and the Mar Menor allows visitors to combine golf with leisure and tourism.
