Orbaneja del Castillo is a small village in the province of Burgos, part of the autonomous community of Castile and León in northern Spain. It belongs to the municipality of Valle de Sedano and is located about 67 kilometers north of the city of Burgos, near the border with Cantabria.

One of the most distinctive features of Orbaneja del Castillo is the 25-meter waterfall that flows directly through the village. The water emerges from the Cueva del Agua (Water Cave), runs through the center of the village, and eventually reaches the Ebro River. This unique natural element divides the settlement in two and is a central attraction for visitors.

The village has a population of fewer than 50 residents and maintains a strong sense of historical identity. Orbaneja del Castillo was declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 1993 due to its well-preserved stone houses, medieval layout, and cultural significance. In earlier centuries, it was inhabited by a mix of Mozarabic Christians and Jews. The Knights Templar were also present in the area, founding the Hospital of San Albín.

The surrounding landscape is part of the Natural Park of the Hoces del Alto Ebro y Rudrón. This natural park is known for its dramatic limestone cliffs, narrow river gorges, and varied wildlife. The park offers multiple hiking trails and opportunities for nature tourism, attracting visitors who are interested in geology, birdwatching, and rural scenery.
