Capileira is a popular tourist village especially with walkers using it as a base to climb Mulhacen. The hike is relatively easy for such a high mountain and there is even a bus service the goes to a point much higher than were cars are allowed. For information on the bus service to Alto del Chorrillo (Spanish). Once at the top, on a clear day it’s possible to see the Mediterranean.
